BACKGROUND
CGI is a Canadian multinational information technology consulting and systems integration company. During this internship, I worked in the Global Wealth and Capital Markets unit.
A huge chunk of my time at CGI was spent working on the Ascent Design Framework. This design framework enables consistency across multiple channels and sites, allowing smooth transitions and efficient collaboration between designers and developers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
I interned at the company for four months, splitting my time between two roles. As the UX designer, my responsibilities included conducting an audit and reporting compatibility issues of the CGI Ascent framework, fixing those issues, creating digital interfaces for clients, and conducting user testing for clients.
As the UX project associate, my responsibilities included creating a resource allocation system and updating it on a weekly basis. I used Microsoft Excel for most of my operations.
REFLECTION
Overall, this experience was especially valuable because not only did I develop my technical skills by working in a cross-functional team, but I also learned how to effectively manage multiple projects by prioritizing and organizing tasks on a daily basis.
Due to my contract with the company, I cannot publish screenshots or details of my work. However, feel free to connect with me if you would like to know more about my experience at CGI.
